You can Add, Edit, and Delete Risks using the Risks module.
Your issues will only appear on the risk matrix if you set values for the fields used by the matrix. To change the configuration of the module, go to app configuration - Risks. If you want to change the dimensions of the matrix change the number of select options of the configured field.
Any Jira issue can be presented on the matrix. Depending on the Risk management process applied you can create a separate issue type to represent identified risks or simply add set the Risk probability and Consequence for tasks that are at risk.
To Add, Edit, and Delete risks you need one of the following Security roles:
- Box Editor
- Box Admin
Box Viewer security role does not allow such actions.
Adding New Risks
To add a new Risk, click on the "+Risk" or click on the "+" directly on the matrix.
Use the Creation dialog to enter the required information. The Risk Probability and Consequence values will be populated by the App if you use the matrix to add the risk. If you use the "+Risk" button make sure to select the field values.
Note that although the Risks module is now available also on Boxes with no Scope, it does not allow you to create new risks (the "Add" button is greyed out).
For example, Box type "Iteration" has its Scope type set to "None". Although the Risks module is listed among other modules, new risk creation and editing is not available.
Adding Existing Issues as Risks
You can add an existing issue, i.e. an issue that already fits within the scope of the Box, by opening the edit dialog and selecting the Risk probability and Risk consequence field values for this issue. To add more risks without, check the "Add another" check box.
Jira bulk change functionality allows you to edit multiple issues at once, allowing you to set a change risk probability and a change risk consequence for multiple issues during a single bulk operation.
You can inline edit the text and number type of fields directly on the Card or you can use the Edit dialog.
Click on the Jira issue key to be able to edit the issue:
Risk Register (Table)
You can inline edit the following fields once they are added to the column view:
You can remove the risk (any issue) from the matrix and the register by clicking the "Delete" button. The issue will not be deleted from your Host platform but the values of the mapped fields, such as "Risk probability" and "Risk consequence" will be cleared.
Include existing tasks from a task source
You can add existing tasks to a Box by adjusting its scope definition. Items that already exist in tools such as Jira and Trello can be included in your Box.
Go to: Add risk > Manage scope definition to make adjustments.
Warning - task could not be moved
When a risk field hasn't been configured in Risks Administration, you can't use the drag-and-drop mechanism to move a risk. Contact your Jira admin regarding the configuration.
