JIRA Dashboards

Gadgets are currently available only on Jira Server.

To add a BigPicture gadget to a Dashboard, go to your JIRA Dashboard and click the Add Gadget button. Locate the BigPicture gadget on the list.

Gantt, Risk and Program List are currently available. Once inserted, you will need to select the desired Program and automatic refresh intervals for Gantt and Risks. Gantt also has a few additional options regarding the view settings.

The gadgets can be moved around, deleted and maximized like any other JIRA gadget, by using drag and drop and clicking on the small arrow icon in their upper-right corners.

Confluence on-premise pages - only when using on-premise hosting of Jira and Confluence

First, you need to go to your Confluence administration, and scroll down - on the left-hand side, there will be a link called Application Links. Click it and add the link to your JIRA instance with our plugin. Official Atlassian documentation on how to configure Application links can be found here Linking Confluence to Another Application. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Confluence Administration,
  2. Application links
  3. Enter URL associated with your Jira System,
  4. Click on "Authenticate to see status" and click "Allow button"

Second, In the administration of your Confluence find the External Gadgets tab and add the URLs of XML files from your JIRA instance - here's how to find them: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GADGETS/_Finding+the+URL+of+an+Atlassian+Gadget. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Confluence Administration,
  2. Go to "External Gadgets",
  3. Add "Gadget Specification URL" (can be bound on your Jira Dashboard)

  4. Go to your Confluence page,
  5. Click the "Edit" button,
  6. Click on the "+" button,
  7. Select the Gadget you want to add,
  8. Click "Save" and "Insert" the gadget.
  9. Click "Update" on your Confluence page.

Other JIRA plugins

A common question is "can BigPcture read/display/sync data from <insert plugin name>". The answer is rather simple.

If the other plugin uses one of the supported JIRA custom field types (includes Scriptrunner), then you can add it as a column to our Gantt. Once added, you will be able to group and sort by values in this column. Such fields will always be green (non-JIRA).

We are also working on robust integration with Deiser ProFields. Anything other than columns and ProFields is currently not available (Tempo, Structure, etc.).
